Why it matters

Buildings tall enough or large enough that gravity and municipal pressure alone can't supply adequate water flow rely on a fire pump to boost pressure to sprinklers and standpipes. A fire pump that doesn't start, or can't hit its rated flow and pressure, means the rest of your fire suppression system may not get the water it needs.

How often

Weekly or monthly no-flow (churn) tests depending on driver type, plus an annual full-flow test against the pump's rated capacity.

Common questions

Do you test both electric and diesel fire pumps?
Yes -- diesel-driven pumps have some additional checks (battery, fuel, engine condition) beyond what an electric pump needs, and we handle both.
What's a 'churn test'?
A no-flow test where the pump runs against a closed valve to confirm it starts properly and holds correct pressure, without actually flowing water. It's typically done weekly or monthly between the annual full-flow tests.
Our building doesn't have a fire pump -- do we need one?
It depends on your building's height, size, and available municipal water pressure. If you're unsure, we can review your system and let you know whether a fire pump is required or recommended for your property.
