# Fire Sprinkler Monthly Self-Check

**Frequency:** Monthly

A quick visual walk-through between your professional inspections. This isn't a substitute for licensed testing -- it's a way to catch an obvious problem (like a closed valve) months before your next scheduled visit.

## Checklist

- [ ] All control valves are open and free of obvious damage
- [ ] Valve seals, locks, or supervisory devices look undisturbed
- [ ] Pressure gauges are reading in the normal range (not zero, not pegged high)
- [ ] No visible leaks, corrosion, or damage on exposed piping
- [ ] Nothing is stored within 18 inches of sprinkler heads or deflectors
- [ ] Sprinkler heads are unobstructed, undamaged, and free of paint or coatings
- [ ] Fire department connection (FDC) caps are in place and the connection is accessible
- [ ] Spare sprinkler cabinet and wrench are present and stocked
