# Fire Alarm Monthly Self-Check

**Frequency:** Monthly

A basic visual and status check you can do without any special training. Anything electrical or functional beyond this list needs a licensed technician -- that's what your scheduled NFPA 72 testing covers.

## Checklist

- [ ] Control panel shows a normal status with no active trouble or supervisory lights
- [ ] Pull stations are visible, unobstructed, and undamaged
- [ ] Smoke and heat detectors are unobstructed (nothing hung or stacked near them)
- [ ] Notification devices (horns/strobes) are unobstructed and undamaged
- [ ] No unexplained beeping or trouble signal from the panel
- [ ] Panel documentation/inspection tag is present and reasonably current
